St. Katherine College President’s Inaugural Gala

St. Katherine College, Encinitas, will be holding an Inaugural President’s Gala on Saturday evening, January 28 at the Hilton Torrey Pines Hotel in La Jolla. There will be dinner and dancing, a silent and live auction, a special presentation by the St. Katherine College Chorale and a keynote presentation.  Cost to attend is $125 per person. Let us celebrate Nativity of our Lord-feast of hope and love, always mindful of our responsibility before God and humankind.

May the Newborn Christ‐Child fulfill all our prayers and hopes this Christmas and in the New Year 2012!

The Virtue of Punctuality

The time to arrive for any Divine Service is before it is scheduled to begin. Sadly, it has become the custom of most Orthodox Christians to come to Church late. We are not speaking here, about occasional tardiness due to unforeseen circumstances, but the habitual practice of being late due to a lack of concern for being on time.

Bishop Maxim served Hierarchical Liturgy at St. George Parish

On Sunday, January 1, 2012, Fathers’ day according to the Church calendar, His Grace Bishop Maxim served Hierarchical Liturgy at St. George parish. It was a great honor and blessing for the parish to have our hierarch with us on the first day of the calendar new year.
Concelebrants were: Protopresbyter Velimir Petakovic, Protopresbyter Lazar Vasiljevic, Protopresbyter Bratso Krsic and Hieromonk Jovan Babic.
Following the Liturgy, His Grace greeted everyone wishing them a blessed new calendar year and Fathers’ day.
